Our approach

From your scans to a written plan

Surgery abroad is only worth considering when it is the right operation for you. So we start with your diagnosis and imaging, not with a booking: your MRI, X-ray or CT and your reports are reviewed, and you are told whether surgery is appropriate and, if it is, which operation. We work with selected cases, not mass medical tourism; if surgery in Czechia is not right for you, we say so. You then receive a written quote and possible dates, and decide in your own time.

  • Review of your scans and reports, without obligation
  • A clear recommendation, including when surgery is not the right step
  • A written quote and possible dates
  • Guidance on travel and accommodation if your case is suitable

Services

Procedures and indicative prices

Knee and foot and ankle surgery, with indicative "from" prices. The prices are set in euros and shown here in pounds, rounded up; your written quote confirms the final amount for your case. Travel and accommodation are not included. Choose the area that applies to you.

Partial knee replacement

From £5,500 (set at €6,200). Also called half or unicompartmental knee replacement: when arthritis affects only one compartment of the knee, only that part of the joint is replaced. Compared with a total knee replacement it preserves more natural structures and may allow a faster recovery in selected cases. Your scans show whether it suits you.

Knee joint preservation

Knee realignment (high tibial osteotomy) from £4,450, meniscus replacement (transplant) from £5,150, cartilage repair from £3,900, patellar (kneecap) instability surgery from £3,550 and ACL reconstruction from £3,200. Prof. Dr. Hart focuses on joint preservation: these operations aim to preserve your own joint, in some cases to delay the need for a replacement, or to restore stability. Which one is appropriate depends on your scans.

Ankle replacement and ligament surgery

Total ankle replacement from £7,200 and ankle ligament reconstruction from £3,450. In an ankle replacement the damaged joint surfaces are replaced instead of fused, which aims to keep the ankle moving; whether it suits you depends on your imaging and on the state of the joint. Prof. Dr. Hart leads a foot and ankle surgery team in Vienna.

Big toe, flat foot and forefoot surgery

Great toe joint replacement from £3,750, flat foot surgery from £3,550 and forefoot reconstruction from £3,050. They are options for a painful, stiff big toe joint, a flat foot and forefoot deformities. We start with your scans and, where surgery is not the right step, we say so.

Achilles tendon reconstruction

From £2,850. An option when the Achilles tendon is damaged and cannot be repaired simply; the tendon is reconstructed. Your imaging and history decide whether surgery is appropriate.

Shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist

HR Clinic also treats selected shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist conditions. Prices depend on the procedure and are quoted after your scans have been reviewed. Send your scans and tell us what you have been advised.

HR Clinic is a private clinic for self-paying patients: the operation is paid for by you, not by the NHS or an insurer, and no referral from your GP is needed to send your scans for a review. For you this means a written price before you travel, a named surgeon, and time for your questions. HR Clinic is a healthcare provider in Czechia and is regulated there, not by the UK's Care Quality Commission. The clinic is in Znojmo (Kotkova 3974/9c), about an hour from Vienna, with parking at the clinic. Prof. Dr. Hart also consults in Vienna.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I book surgery directly?

No. Every case is reviewed first, and surgery is only considered if it is appropriate based on your diagnosis, imaging and medical history. The review is without obligation.

Are the prices guaranteed?

The prices on this site are indicative "from" prices, set in euros and shown in pounds, rounded up. Your written quote, issued after we have reviewed your scans, confirms the final amount for your case.

Is travel included in the price?

No. Flights, accommodation and local travel are not included. If your case is suitable, we can give you guidance on travel and accommodation.

Which documents should I send?

Your MRI, X-ray or CT images, medical reports, previous diagnoses and any surgical recommendation you have been given. If you already have a UK quote, you are welcome to send it too, so you can compare what each includes.

Where does surgery take place and how long do I stay?

At HR Clinic in Znojmo, Czechia, about an hour from Vienna. Most procedures need a hospital stay of one day or one night; we confirm the full schedule when we plan your trip.

Is treatment abroad safe?

Surgery always carries risks, wherever it is performed. That is why every case is medically assessed before anything is planned, and why we only consider surgery when it is appropriate for you.
